I trained in Integrative Counselling. This means that I learned a number of theories and techniques and learned to integrate them in my work with my clients.

I work with couples and individuals on a wide range of presenting issues. This could be in things like addiction, affairs, anger management, anxiety, relationship issues, betrayals, depression, bereavement, abuse, trauma and others. I have worked with different agencies and am currently working with Relate London North West where I see clients on Friday evenings. I try and work with people and not problems. What I mean by that is that I work with you as a person or as persons (in a couple), without judgement or prejudice to understand you and your presenting issue.  Presenting issues can be deceptive and can hide the real source of your troubles. It is not unless I understand you as a person that I can help you work through your troubles.

Skills and techniques

Some of the skills I use include, Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Mindfulness, CBT, REBT, Choice therapy, Existential therapy, EFT and Systemic work. These are some of the common ones. Through on-going professional development, I come across different techniques and ideas and will incorporate them into my work. Working in an integrative manner allows me the flexibility and access to more than one way of working to the client. The style of working is often dictated by the issues we are working with and the clients readiness to change.

I use creative techniques to provoke thought. Ultimately, my aim is to work with you on whatever is troubling you and help you arrive at your own solutions. I will use a variety of skills and techniques to do this.
