Outlined below is the process I follow when I work with you in counselling. This is done regardless of it being individual or couples counselling.
Starting the sessions
We start with an initial phone chat to understand what you are looking for from counselling. This could be dealing with specific issues, understanding yourself better, trying to have a better relationship or better sex life. We then book one session. This helps us meet each other and understand your struggles in more depth. There is no obligation to engage in any further sessions at this point. If on the other hand, you want to book sessions we book 6 more sessions.
When the 6 sessions end, we do a review. This takes the shape of a discussion where we talk about what is working and how the work is progressing. We realign the work or the working style based on your needs. We agree further sessions if that is what you want and repeat this part of the process again in a few weeks. The review is done regularly thereafter.
When the work is nearing its end, we agree to discontinue the sessions and being them to an end on a planned date.
